NEW YORK – 1. July 20, 2021 – Acker, America’s oldest winery and the world’s largest wine auction house, is pleased to announce its continued investment in the fine and rare spirits market.  Starting July 12, the company will host monthly online spirits auctions, followed by its first US spirits auction in October in New York.  In addition, with the appointment of Ethan Kelly as director of spirits in April, Acker further expanded its talent roster to include third-party authentication specialists now based in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Demand for whiskey and other spirits has continued to grow since our first special sale in 2019, and we aim to serve both established and new collectors with a busy schedule of live and online sales and events, backed by the best expertise in the business, said Irwin Goldman, CEO of Acker. Ethan Kelly, director of spirits at Acker, said: I’m excited to welcome the world of spirits to Acker with an extensive auction and retail offering, as well as exciting educational events. It is exciting to see the growing interest in this market, and Acker plans to remain an active and thoughtful member of the spirits community for many years to come.
