April 14 – Due to the current situation, we will not be able to come to your VIA in person this year, but we have modified the course so that you can continue your Italian wine certificate as a distance learning course in a hybrid format.

Course format

The course consists of 4 main parts:

Online Theory Sessions

Once you have registered and paid for the course, you will be given access to our online learning platform. You will find theoretical courses taught by the teaching staff. These sessions should conclude with an appropriate tasting and question and answer session.

Online question time:

Hold direct question and answer sessions with faculty to ask questions about previous readings. These sessions are then uploaded to a digital platform where students can go through them before exams.

Virtual tasting:

Guided tastings make up the bulk of the second half of the course and provide an opportunity to taste wines with the instructors using the VIA tasting schedule at one of the tasting centers across the United States. The pilot centres are designed according to the principles of social distance and safety. The course fee includes 36 reference wines that will be presented at a guided tasting in the tasting center. Teachers will communicate with students online and hold tasting sessions with students.

Tests:

  • The exams will take place in July. They consist of 100 multiple choice questions, 2 short answer questions and a blind tasting.
  • You will also need to prepare a short video presentation on the topic, which will be posted at the beginning of the course.

Time control

Recruitment: up to 30. June 2021
