Bryn Mawr produces elite wines at affordable prices, made in the cool climate of Eola-Amity Hills AVA.
Salem, Ore. (December 7, 2020) – Bryn Mawr Vineyards of Willamette Valley, Oregon, has appointed the Palmateer Wine Group of San Rafael, California, to manage sales and marketing in the United States. With this new collaboration, Bryn Mawr wants to expand its audience for world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
We are very happy to work with this exciting vineyard in this world-class wine region, said Gordon Palmateer, founder of the Palmateer Wine Group. We were very impressed by the wines of Bryn Moore and we think they have great potential for a national audience.
We have been lucky to have loyal customers from day one, says John Lauer, owner of Bryn Moore Winery with his wife Kathy Lauer. With this national distribution partnership, we hope to continue our growth, especially as so many people enjoy wine at home.
Bryn Mawr, meaning high hill in Welsh, lies at the top of the steep western ridge of the Eola Amity Hills, known throughout the Willamette Valley for their strong sea breeze. Owners John and Cathy Lauer looked beyond the terrifying volcanic cliffs and blackberry bulbs to see the enormous potential of the site and acquired the estate in 2009 by hiring winemaker Rachel Rose to oversee the growth and development of the vineyard and wine-growing programs.
After having worked in the Lauers winery for almost ten years, Bryn Mawr moved to the new wine complex in 2018. A year later, their new tasting room was completed, with a spacious deck offering breathtaking views of the Willamette Valley from the waterfall to the coast.
The winemaker of Bryn Mawr, Rachel Rose, has increased her production from modest to 6,500 cases, with affordable and elegant wines at different prices. Bryn Mawr produces world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on its own sustainable acreage and on the neighbouring vineyards of Eola Amity Hills AVA.
Bryn More also produces small amounts of experimental white, pink and red, including Riesling ($25), Pinot Blanc ($25), Dolchetto ($35) and Tempranillo ($25). In 2018, a new sparkling wine program was launched, sown with a sparkling rose, but it soon turned into a traditional black and white method.
Bryn Mawr wines are currently sold in Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. For more information, please visit: https://www.brynmawrvineyards.com/.
